In early May, IOE Group of CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Associationheld the first seminar in the ancient city of Langzhong. The meeting was presided by the group leader, TAN Yi. The IOE members of CAS Council for Promotion of Youth Innovation and 15 young researchers from IOE attended this meeting.

At the meeting, the IOE member, AN Tao gave a report entitled “Target Active Detection Technology” to introduce domestic and foreign research status, research foundation, research progress, research goals and applications of the technology. Another IOE member, FAN Bin, gave his presentation entitled “Process Technology of Large and Med-Sized Optical Mirror”, sharing mirror blank manufacturing technology, fabrication and testing technology of large aspheric mirror with the attendants.

The two reports attacked the attendants. They discussed heatedly about application of the technologies, process and test methods of large optical element, etc.

It is reported, CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association aims at fully improving innovation ability, leadership, communication and cooperation skills of outstanding young scientific and technological talents under the age of 35, to cultivate the new generation of academic leaders who would be noble in moral, sensitive in science & technology frontier and capable of leading a team of independent innovation. IOE group of CAS Council for Promotion of Youth Innovation was established in Sept. 2011 and consisting of 9 members currently, mainly engaged in lithography, adaptive optics, micro-machining, optical manufacturing and testing, etc.
