In order to stimulate the graduates to strive for original scientific and technical innovation, the Key Laboratory on Adaptive Optics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (including the eighth lab, the third lab, and Advanced Optics Manufacturing Center) held Graduate Innovation Awards recently. By strict evaluation and selection, the doctor candidates WANG Xiaohua, LI Hao, GUO Youming winned the first, second and third grade prize respectively. The laboratory offered 30 thousand, 20 thousand and 10 thousand RMB cash awards and a domestic holiday opportunity to them.

To ensure the impartiality and objectivity of the evaluation and selection, the laboratory invited several professors from Zhejiang University and Sichuan University, some experts and winners of the Innovation Award of Youth Innovation of IOE as the member of the review committee. Based on the evaluation principle of “emphasis on originality, comparison in the wold, personal contribution rather than collective achievements”, the committee reviewed the innovation backgrounds, innovation theories, innovation ideas, implementation approaches, experimental results and significances of these scientific and technical achievements, WANG Xiaohua and other two graduates stood out at last.

The laboratory already made <Graduate Innovation Talent Award Procedure> at the beginning of this year, aiming at encouraging graduates in conducting innovation achievements, including the original innovation ( innovation of theory and method), key technological breakthrough, technological innovation of system integration , unique and good ideas to inspire scientific research potential, and so on.

The laboratory also made <Youth Innovation Talent Award Procedure >. It  applied to the young researchers and will process in the second half of this year.
