A lecture on E-ELT by a professor from London University in IOE
Professor David D. Walker from London University gave a lecture on progress of European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) project in the academic hall of IOE, CAS (Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences) on Aug. 9, 2011.
In his lecture, he introduced the project, fabrication and testing technologies of segment mirrors for the primary mirror, including grinding, CNC polishing and on-site testing.
The lecture was chaired by Professor WU Fan, about 70 researchers and graduates attended the meeting. The attendee discussed some related technologies with Professor Walker warmly.
