The 2th Symposium on Biomedicine Optical Imaging was held successfully
In Aug., 2010, the Second Symposium on Biomedicine Optical Imaging was held successfully in Chengdu. The symposium is sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) together with Chinese Academic Science (CAS), and it is orangnized by the Institute of Optics and Electronics (IOE).
There are 20 invited reports on the latest advances and achievements of related technologies such as OCT imaging, endoscopy optical imaging, acousto-optic imaging, molecular imaging, molecular probe, nonlinear optical microscope, AO high resolution imaging, biochip, ghost imaging, fluorescence lifetime imaging, diffused light computation tomography imaging and femtosecond laser nerve imaging. The researchers and clinic eye experts discussed the need of medicine development for biomedicine optical imaging. CAS Member ZHOU Bingkun and CAE Member JIANG Wenhan served as Honorary Chairman, and the IOE’s Director ZHANG Yudong is the Symposium Chairman. CAE Member CHENG Jing (Tsinghua University), professor CHEN Zhongpin(University of California), professor Wang Lihong (Washington University), and the deputy headmaster of Huazhong University of Technology and Science LUO Qinming are invited as Session Chair. 8 famous foreign professors, 16 domestic experts and scholars, more than 20 researchers from IOE participates the symposium.
The subjects of this symposium are at the international frontier of the field. Through the discussion among clinical eye specialists, the relationship between basic research and application requirements is defined. This symposium will motivate effectively the development of biomedicine optical imaging technology of China, and promote the communication and cooperation among experts. The participants praised the academic level and organization of the symposium and anticipate the third symposium that can attract more famous experts in the related field to attend the conference, making it become a high-level, distinctive, and influential international seminar and contributing to the development of biomedicine optical imaging technology of China.
The symposium on Biomedicine Optical Imaging aims to enhance the communication and cooperation among experts and scholars of the world, to stipulate the development of biomedicine optical imaging and accelerate the extension and application of the new theory, method, and technique of biomedicine optical imaging field.
