Recently, reseach professor RAO Changhui, won "CAS Wang Kuancheng Award for Outstanding Achievements to Western Scholars" of CAS. According to the relevant documents, he will also win 50,000RMB prize by CAS. He has become one of 20 excellent young scientists achieved the awards by far.

CAS Wang Kuancheng Award for Outstanding Achievements to Western Scholars was established by CAS to honor outstanding western scholars in innovation in basic and applied science fields to encourage them to devote themselves to local economy growth.

Professor Rao Changhui, supervisor of PhD, is director of No.8 lab., deputy director of Atmosphere Optics Key Laboratory of National 863 Program and assistant head of IOE, as well as One of academic and technological research leaders in Sichuan Province. His research interest is adaptive optical technology and system. He has over 20 national inventive patents. With Rao's guide and aid, about 20 graduates received individual degree including PhD. Due to his achievements and contribution, he won lots of awards such as the First Prize in Science and Technology Progress of CAS, the prize of 100 Excellent Doctoral Dissertations，two excellent prize of Dean's Scholarship of CAS and special prize of Daheng Scholarship of CAS. Moreover, he was honored the Ninth Science and Technology Awards for youth of Sichuan Province in 2007.
