As Asia's leading event for the laser, optics, and optoelectronics industry, LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA has continued to present the full range of photonics products since 2006, aiming at the unique needs on the Chinese market. LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA 2018 will be held from March 14 to 16, 2018 in Halls W1-W5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. With five key topics--lasers and photonics, optics and optical manufacturing, laser systems for production engineering, imaging, testing and quality control--the exhibition will present the entire range of modern laser technology in one place.

Bright "light" in March will illuminate Intelligent Light Manufacturing

LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA 2018 will occupy an area of 51,750 square meters with more than 1,000 exhibitors and 9 national pavilions from around the world. More than 55,000 trade visitors will meet in March at this first-class event. The exhibition will feature world leading laser and optoelectronic technology, as well as the latest and most advanced products. It will also be an opportunity to discuss the most popular topics and challenges in the industry and research fields. It will present the entire photonics industry chain and provide the most effective solutions.

As production becomes more intelligent, flexible and precise, a new manufacturing system based on intelligent technology has been created. The integration of intelligent robots and advanced laser processing technology will enhance processing technology, create more opportunities and promote the further development of the automation level in the industry. Laser processing robots integrate the advantages of both technologies to better serve high-end manufacturing industry. LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA 2018 will attract robot giants like FANUC, KUKA, St?ublio and Yaskawa showcase the “intelligence” of laser processing robots.

As the development of laser technology and robotics pushes China's manufacturing industry into the high-value end in the global industry chain, the vigorous development of the machine vision industry has brought another driving force into "intelligent manufacturing". In particular, the "marriage" of machine vision and robot technology has produced unprecedented momentum in manufacturing industry. The Shanghai International Machine Vision Exhibition and the concurrent Conference of Machine Vision Technology and Industrial Applications (Vision China) represent the largest, most professional, and most authoritative international machine vision event in China. They will showcase the full range of core machine vision components and plug-ins, focusing on their applications in electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, security and monitoring, medical imaging, industrial inspection, robot and automation, automobile manufacturing, and printing and packaging applications. They will provide a basis for the future development of "intelligent industrial manufacturing".

Optical precision manufacturing enables new possibilities in high-tech industries

China's manufacturing industry is at a crucial period in its transformation and advancement. Traditional production technology is in urgent need of upgrading and replacement. Exhibitors at LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA will showcase equipment for ultraprecision optical parts processing, precision measurement and servo systems, and ultraprecision cutting. The exhibits will include the Newport IDL series precision motion platform, sub nanometer optical technology from Changchun Guoke and the 3D optical scanning system from Carl Zeiss. They provide important technical support for leading high-tech industries such as transportation, energy, IT and biopharmacy.

New products, technologies and applications: how lasers and photonics enable upgrades in manufacturing industry

China is at a crucial period in its transition from a manufacturing country to an intelligent manufacturing power, and the era of "manufacturing by light" is very close. In recent years, the laser industry has been developing continuously, with new products and new applications emerging constantly. The entire laser industry is thriving against the background of "made in China 2025" and the development of intelligent manufacturing and robotic technology.

The conference will bring together many high quality brands and their latest products, technologies and solutions. In addition to traditional laser marking and surface treatment equipment, power batteries and metal sheet welding and cutting machines, two important trends in 2017, these companies will exhibit new, more efficient products. Laser cleaning and multi-material laser welding will also become the focal point of the industry in 2018. Touch screen cutting, ultra-fast lasers, VCSEL lasers, and attosecond laser technology will also produce surprises at the show. In addition, the exhibition will act as a one-stop sourcing platform for optoelectronic products.

Full coverage of hot topics in the supporting programs

The PHOTONICS CONGRESS CHINA will be held concurrently with the exhibition and will examine interesting areas covering the hot topics in the industry such as laser processing, advanced lasers, optical technology, infrared imaging technology, laser safety and beam analysis. These programs will link the scientific research, development and application fields to offer more practical value. The Congress will invite well-known experts from all over the world, including Prof. Dr. Andreas Ostendorf, Vice Chancellor of the Ruhr University Bochum, Prof. Dr. Wong Chee How, Vice President of the College of Engineering, Nanyang Technology University, Singapore, and Prof. Dr. Stefan Kaierle, Director of the Materials and Processing Division, Hanover Laser Center. They will talk about the latest advances in laser and optoelectronic technology, and also describe current market trends.
